Muhammed Jobe a. k. a G Mo is another Senegambian hip-hop star going big as far as world hip-hop is concern.

He is currently in The Gambia promoting his new promo single called ‘Get Down’ which is expected to land in the market soon. Born in Dakar, G Mo later moved to France with his mother and returned to the Senegalese capital, Dakar, only eight years after. The 21 year-old rap star, started music at the age of 16 and at the age of 17, he recorded his first single track. The same year, he made his debut public appearance in a local radio station in Dakar. His energetic and versatile skill on stage, enabled him to collaborate with a lot of Senegalese artists like, Nix or Fafadi and the Gambia’s-Sweden based rap mogul- Mo Hawk outter Da Fugitive’s, Rugie or Junior King and the US beat maker THX among others.

The youngster, who was in love with Michel Jackson’s music, later discovered the Senegalese rap with groups like PBS, Daara J Pee Froiss or Yafatu and also gracing stage in the Dakar neighbourhood. Today, he is the first Senegambian rap star to offer first album for free. Few years later, he was influenced into American rap style by his cousin -Blackbird. Since then, he continues to follow the foot trails of groups like Hotsboyz or 504 Boyz in the Southside of the United States.

He dropped his first free album in the market in July 2007, and since then, G Mo is now preparing for the real comeback mix tape with musical productions of Ama Diop and Beugz. In an interview with What’s On, G Mo disclosed that the new single comprises positive message that young people will fine interesting. He disclosed that he recorded this upcoming single at the Block Entertainment Studio in Pipeline.

“Basically the new promo single entails a lot, as it shows that Africa is quite present in the world Hip-Hop force. The continent is full of talents who don’t need to envy other continents. As a result, the title coincided with the inauguration of Barrack Obama, as the first black president of the United States. Right now, the single is going wild in most parts of the Senegalese city as it continues to attract wide attention,” he said.

D’abord il nous décortique lettre par lettre les initiales de son nom d’Emcee. Le « G » donne Galsene (Sénégal à l’envers) et la Gambie. La lettre se réfère à l’origine Sénégambienne du rappeur. Le ‘’ MO’’ se réfère au nom de l’artiste qui est Mohamed rappelant ainsi le très saint prophète de l’islam (saw). IL s’agit donc d’une simple combinaison entre le vrai nom de l’artiste et ses origines.

G.mo est né à Dakar (SENEGAL) en janvier 1988. Après quelques mois, il se rend en France avec sa mère et ne reviendra que huit années plus tard dans la capitale sénégalaise. L'enfant qui n'avait goût que pour la musique de Micheal Jackson va découvrir le rap Galsène avec les groupes PBS, Daara J, Pee froiss ou encore Yat Fu. Il vit également de voyages en Gambie où il s'installe assez souvent et apprend l'anglais. Un de ses cousins, Blackbird va alors l'influencer dans un autre style de rap: le rap américain. Il est a présent question des groupes HOTBOYZ ou encore 504 BOYZ du "Southside" des Etats-Unis qui donnent à l'enfant l'envie d'écrire des textes.

Il commence donc à écrire à l'âge de 16 ans et enregistrera son premier morceau à l'âge de 17 ans. La même année, il fait sa première radio !!! Son flow et sa technique lui permettront de collaborer avec des artistes sénégalais comme Nix ou Fafadi, des artistes gambiens comme Junior King, des artistes US comme P.Pizzle ou encore le producteur de sons THX (voir dernier album de SNOOP DOGG-the blue carpet treatment )...Aujourd’hui G.MO est le premier rappeur à offrir son premier album gratuitement
Apres le premier album gratuit sorti en juillet 2007, G.MO prépare la sortie de la mixtape « THE COME BACK » pour le 12 décembre 2009 avec des productions musicales de AMA DIOP , BEUGZ et de MOISE.

En attendant il présente son second single '' AFRICAN LOVE ''.
