Perry Blake

Born in Ireland in 1970.  Perry Blake released his eponumous debut album in 1998.
It was to establish him as a massive cult artist across Europe.  Critical reaction in the UK was also rapturous, with magazines like "Q" and "Uncut" shouting his praises from the rooftops.  BBC's Radio 1's Jo Wiley made his first two releases her singles of the week.

Neatly described as one of the world's best-kept secrets, Blake has released five studio albums, a soundtrack to French movie "Presque Rien", and a live album recorded with an orchestra at Cirque Royale in Brussels.

In February 2005 Blake received a gold disc for two songs he co-wrote with Marco Sabiu for French icon Françoise Hardy.  The album has also just won a French grammy.
In 2002 Blake received the prestigious Fnac award for contribution to culture in Portugal (previously won by P.J. Harvey and Lenny Kravitz).

Blake also recently had two songs featured in the movie "Trois Petites Filles", directed by Cannes award winning director, Jean-Loup Hubbert.
He has collaborated with French Top 20 artist, Emilie Simon, performing a duet and scoring the choral arrangements.

Né en Irlande en 1970, Perry Blake sort son premier album éponyme en 1998 qui l’établit en tant qu’artiste culte à travers l’Europe. 
La réaction des critiques en Grande Bretagne est unanime, avec des magazines tels que “Q” et “Uncut” chantant ses louanges. 
La présentatrice de Radio BBC1, Jo Wiley fait de ses deux premières sorties ses singles de la semaine.

Décrit comme étant un des secrets du monde le mieux gardé, Blake a sorti 5 albums en studio et réalisé la bande originale du film français “Presque Rien” et un album live enregistré avec un orchestre au Cirque Royal de Bruxelles.

En 2002, Blake reçoit le prestigieux prix Fnac pour sa contribution à la culture portugaise (précédement emporté par P.J. Harvey et Lenny Kravitz).

En février 2005, Blake reçoit un disque d’or pour 2 chansons co-composées avec Marco Sabiu pour l’album “Tant de belles choses” de Françoise Hardy. L’album a remporté une Victoire de la Musique cette même année.

Deux de ses chansons ont été reprises sur la bande originale du film “Trois Petites Filles” , dirigé par Jean-Loup Hubert, lauréat du Meilleur Réalisateur à Cannes.

Perry Blake a également chanté en duo avec Emilie Simon sur le titre “Graine d’étoile”.
