Hansi & The Marvellous

Our Marvellous Story that is Hansi & the Marvellous! I'm Gitti Recher from the Marvellous group. I was born in Vienna and grew up in the 22nd district. I studied trade & business management and hold a master's degree. I speak fluently in several languages such as English, French & Italian. Few years ago I quit my job as a manager's secretary in a big mobile telecommunication company to become a professional singer and performer.
I worked with some well known artists such as, Tom Lang, Joni Madden, Christian Zida, Life Brothers, ABBAriginal, Roland Guggenbichler, Hannes Oberwalder, Bobby Gutdeutsch,... With Wolfgang Ambros and Hansi Hinterseer I have toured in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland with great success,... Music is my life and my passion, but my interests widely vary. In between of making marvellous music, I often work as an assistant director (Opernball, Kommissar Rex, Karajan-Doku, Mozart-Doku-2006,...), or on the set, where I take charge of all extras.
In 1998 Hansi came into my life, asking me, whether I'm interested in a project called Marvellous. He started to create a special Marvellous sound, and wrote Marvellous songs and it all began to fall into place like pieces in a puzzle, a Marvellous puzzle!....

Hi! I am Sylvie Albrecht! I also sing vocals in this Marvellous group. I was born in Vienna and grew up there.
1996 I had my first band called Dampflock.
1997 my second: "For tea 4".
Then I built and developed my voice. I supported Andy Lee Lang in Vienna, Paris,...
1998 I sang a spot for Interspar. I’ve had gigs with Monti Beton, and projects with bands like Quasibodo, Respect and No-Name.
I'm a hot-blooded biker-lady. I also have travelled to Bangkok, Canada, Italy, Spain & Egypt and in Cuba I dove between the coral reefs,... I enjoy listening to great music such as Blues, Jazz and Soul.

In 1998 we launched our first debut album called "Cause Real Love Is...". In 2000 Hansi participated in a composer contest which he won and did really well in.
The single "Women In Tears" became number one (1) on the official Austrian broadcasting station in Vienna = Radio Wien. We got extremely good air play and we were very happy with the song’s outcome.
In 2005 Sony/BMG put our Christmas song “Why Only At Christmas“ on a Compilation-Cd called Austro Pop Show 2005. The CD became number seven (7) on Ö3 Austria Top 40 Compilation Charts.
The follow-up-song "Feel The Heat Of The Night" also won a competition... and here we are, ready to give the world a new marvellous...

I am Hans Georg Lang - my friends call me "Hansi". I crew up the son of a railway worker, with two sisters, in the middle of mountains in a small village called Werfen, in the district of Salzburg / Austria. We have the biggest icecave in the world and also a nice castle. We were quite often film capital. “Sound Of Music’s” most famous take – where Julie Andrews sings among kids her beautiful song, wasn’t shot in Salzburg, the picture was taken behind Werfen in a field, with our castle in the back. Later on in the cutting room the producers brougth the pictures together. In 1969 Clint Eastwood, Richard Burton, Patrick Wymark, Mary Ure, Michael Hordern,… played in a nazi-film called “Where Eagles Dare”, while Liz Taylor was always going for a walk with her nice little dogs. It was very interesting for us to watch them working on the set. We saw Richard Burton very often in the restaurants. Another famous german guy, Roy Black, did the film “Kinderarzt Dr. Fröhlich”.
We all wanted to become something special in this little town of 3.500 people. Some of my friends made it. Petra Kronberger became a word champion and the olympic goldmedal in ski racing. Karl & Rudi Obauer were cooks of the year 1989, Gault Millau, and have 4 **** A la Carte “stars”, Gault Millau and Michelin “stars”.
I desided to go another way. I wanted to become a Singer/Songwriter. I started guitar playing and songwriting when I was 15 years of age. At that time, I had my first experiences with girls :-)), my first love affairs, ups and downs of life, lovesickness ;-( disappointments :-( ...you know what I mean). It wasn't that exciting life I was looking for. I wanted to improve my English, to be able to write songs in this language, I wanted to become rich and famous, or only rich, or only famous... (like Didi Mateschitz years later with Red Bull - he comes from Salzburg too :-)))) ...to produce songs,... the idea behind: to start-up the own company in the vending machines business (with chewing gum, toys, peanut) in London!

On the 1th of December 1976 my friend at 19 and I at 23 left our hometown to see life. We had no experience what ever in the field, but we knew, in London there are lot's of hotels, while looking for the right premises... :-) We found a very nice place in Croydon on the outskirts of London. The hotel had it's own chicken and eggs. It was a great experience for us young guys. At the beginning it was a daily struggle, to keep the business going and to pay the bills. But in the course of time things went better and better.

I allowed myself the luxury to go to studios and to produce my own songs I wrote. I met a lot of nice guys, great musicians such us Peter Boita (was drummer of Les Humphries Singers) and Ronny Caryl. About Ronny it is worth while to tell you something: Ronny started his professional musical career in 1969 with the rock group, Flaming Youth. In this short-lived band was Caryl's friend Phil Collins, for whom Caryl was best man at his first wedding. In 1970, they both auditioned for Genesis, Phil obtained the job as drummer,...
In 1996, Ronnie became an official member of Collins's group as a backing vocalist and rhythm guitarist. As well as work with Phil Collins, Ronny Caryl has also performed alongside David Hentschel, Michel Polnareff, Lulu, Stephen Bishop, Eric Clapton, Gary Brooker, Maggie Bell and John Otway. Now he lives in France.
Most of my 10 Songs we did at Ronnies home-made-studio, or in a studio at a big farm near London, ones I worked in the studio, Leo Sayer started his career. And I got my first song agreement! I was very proud. Every experience, every excitement I wrote down. In our leisure hours on saturday my friend an I went often to the Austrian Catholic Centre in Wood Green, Hammersmith, or to the Swiss Hostel. One day I saw Erika, a wonderful girl with long blond hair... I was delighted, I was captivated by her smile. She came from Vorarlberg, a city near the border to Switzerland. And that was it! After 4 1/2 years of very hard work I quit the job.

In March 1981 I left London with tears in my eyes, to go back to Austria. I'll never ever forget those 4 1/2 years in this wonderful special city, the nice people, culture,... Austria, Hansi is back again! Via Salzburg, with the aim for Vienna.
The fourth part of my Marvellous life: In Vienna I met nice guys making nice music. In 1983 I signed up my first recording agreement with a major label under the pseudonym John Lane - „Don't Worry/I Never Let You Go“ and „I Give You Love“. 1986 I got my second agreement as Hans Georg Lang with an austrian dialect song - "Mutti bitte schimpf' mi net".

In 1998 I launched my first debut album with Marvellous called "Cause Real Love Is...".
In 2000 I participated in a composer contest which I won. The single "Women In Tears" became number one on the official austrian broadcasting station in Vienna = Radio Wien. We got nice air play and were very happy :-))
In 2005 Sony/BMG put our christmas song „Why Only At Christmas“ on a compilation-cd called Austro Pop Show 2005 = No. 7 on Ö3 Austria Top 40 CompilationCharts. With the follow-up-song "Feel The Heat Of The Night" I won a competition too...
Lately, I started writing, producing and singing songs for my own purpose again. Especially for certain occasions like the Football European Champion Ship in Vienna 2008 - "Schiaßt's a Goi", and for the guys around 5ty - "Jetzt hot's 5zig g'schlog'n bei dir", or a Christmas-Special, with guests from Simbabwe = MoZuluArt - "It's A Waste Of Time". My latest Production "Wait Until 2morrow" I did with an excellent Rapper from Sydney "The RA" and with Soul Queen Betty Semper from Ghana - "The Sun Never Shines In Africa"
