ANESIDORA CHAPTER
The band was created in 2003 but it took a brand new start when the current line-up formed in late 2006. After a few gigs, they decided to realize an EP called "Anesidora" (2008). The reactions of the press were very enthusiastic. It was elected “best EP of the year” by the MetalSymphonique.com webzine readers and many webzines agreed to say that BS is one of the most serious hopes of the french Metal scene. Benighted Soul also proved their talent live, sharing the stage with many bands (Delain, Vader, Belphegor, Ayin Aleph, MyPollux, Elis, Fairyland, Kells, Whyzdom...) in famous french concert halls such as La Locomotive, La Scène Bastille, La Maroquinerie, the CCO Villeurbanne, Le Marché Gare, L’Autre Canal… They also got the second position of the Wacken Contest 2008 (Metal Battle France).

AND NOW ?
In January 2010, the band returned in studio to record their first album titled “Start from Scratch”, an ambitious project including the recording of orchestrations and of a 20 people choir. With this opus, to be released early 2011 on SAVAGE PROD / SEASON OF MIST, they’ve reached a musical maturity, showing they are ready for much more! After a few french gigs, the band will hit the European roads, supporting Tarja Turunen for a part of the “What Lies Beneath Tour 2010”.

CHAPITRE ANESIDORA
Bien que le groupe soit né en 2003, il prend un nouveau départ quand son line-up définitif se fixe en 2006. Après quelques concerts, décision est prise de réaliser un nouvel EP, Anesidora, pour lequel les réactions de la presse furent très enthousiastes. Anesidora a été élu "meilleur EP de l'année" en 2008 par les lecteurs du webzine MetalSymphonique.com et beaucoup de webzines s'accordent à dire que BS est un des plus sérieux espoirs de la scène Metal française. Suite à la sortie de cet EP, Benighted Soul prouve aussi son talent live en partageant la scène avec de nombreux groupes (Delain, Vader, Belphegor, Ayin Aleph, MyPollux, Elis, Fairyland, Kells, Whyzdom...) dans de fameuses salles de concerts françaises comme La Locomotive, La Scène Bastille, La Maroquinerie, le CCO Villeurbanne, Le Marché Gare, l’Autre Canal… Le groupe remporte également la seconde place du Wacken Contest 2008 (Metal Battle France).

ET MAINTENANT ?
En janvier 2010, le groupe a repris le chemin du studio pour réaliser son premier album "Start from Scratch", un projet ambitieux incluant l'enregistrement d'orchestrations philharmoniques et d'un choeur d'une vingtaine de personnes. Avec cet opus prévu pour début 2011 sur SAVAGE PROD / SEASON OF MIST, BS a atteint une maturité musicale démontrant qu'ils sont prêts pour bien plus ! Après quelques dates françaises, le groupe s'apprête à parcourir les routes européennes avec Tarja Turunen en support du "What Lies Beneath Tour 2010".
