Gazelle
After working with the humanitarian organization "Médecins Sans Frontières" (MSF) in Kosovo, Russia, Afghanistan and West Africa, Gazelle is rediscovering a passion for music that she had put on hold for many years.
Gazelle was born in Paris and raised in Los Angeles. As a child she played classical and jazz music on the piano and as a teenager she was exposed to a wide variety of sounds from Los Angeles rock bands thanks to "Musicalifornia" - a show which aired for 4 years on the TV station "France 2" and was produced and filmed by her father and brother.
While busking in the streets of Spain one summer with members of her Russian boyfriend's band, "Limpopo", Gazelle picked up the accordeon. She started out with Russian folk songs and went on to play klezmer, cajun, tango and many other styles. But she had to leave the accordeon behind the day she went on her first mission with MSF: it didn't fit in her backpack.
The heavy traveling came to a logical end with the desire to create a family. Settling down in Brussels allowed Gazelle to put her piano, accordeon, newly-bought guitar, Sony walkman and computer all under one roof and to begin singing and composing in her free time.
